Farm to Table

Can you prepare a healthy, balanced meal for your family from the local farmers market?  How are fresh foods more nutritionally sound than packaged foods you buy at the grocery store?  What benefits are provided from shopping locally?  Visit the farmers market and create a meal for your family that is healthy, balanced, and local.  Take a picture while you are there to verify your attendance and email it to our class photobucket.  What did your family think about your cooking skills?  Would you visit the farmers market again?


Healthy Food Challenge

Can you take a food challenge for to improve your overall diet?  Can you eat the recommended daily intake for fruits or vegetables for three days?  Can you survive eating only what is considered a proper portion size for one meal? Could you remove all processed foods from your diet for an entire day? What challenge will you take to improve the overall health of our digestive system and body?
